August 2025 Newsletter
St. John Neumann Guild of the Catholic Medical Association
Welcome to our newest member–Sharon Leonard, RD. Sharon is a Senior Clinical Specialist at the Center for Weight and Eating Disorders at the University of Pennsylvania.
Two new Member Benefits for St. John Neumann Guild Members
- Access to the National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC) online resources, including Ethics & Medics newsletter, bi-weekly ethics updates, and individual consultation with a staff ethicist when necessary. Email presneumannguild@gmail.com to obtain the username and password.
- Access to consultation on issues of conscience or moral opposition to lawful medical services through the Alliance Defending Freedom. Since more and more of health care professionals are employed by large health systems, this benefit can be a “life” or career saver. To request a consultation, visit: https://adflegal.org/request-legal-help/.
Prayer Intentions
*For the repose of the soul of Katelyn Bradley’s paternal grandmother who passed away after a several weeks-long illness this summer. Katelyn currently serves on our Board of Trustees.
*For the upcoming meeting on August 15th between President Trump and Vladimir Putin of Russia regarding the war in Ukraine
*For religious vocations in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia: this will be our Guild’s prayer intention for the coming year, at the request of Bishop Keith Chylinksi. Since all good things are supported by prayer, we’ll be announcing a Holy Hour initiative for Religious Vocations next month.
Have a special intention for which you’d like us as a Guild to pray? Email presneumannguild@gmail.com. We’ll announce them each month to our membership.
